Moana Falls Hike

So my brother initially came with me to help out and to have a Hawaiian vacation for almost free. So the dogs first hike was the Moana Falls hike. This was a nice little hike. It is about 1.5 miles round trip and is pretty busy. The trail is muddy so don't wear shoes you don't mind mud on (there is a hose at the bottom to wash off with). There is also parking at the bottom for 5 dollars, which from what I'm learning is worth it because most hikes here don't seem to have parking. Best thing is the dogs can do it, and I think pretty much any dog could do it. This hike is shaded which was nice in keeping the sun away so even though we went in the afternoon it wasn't too hot. I'd definitely recommend this hike.

So in summary:
Trail: Moana Falls
Dog friendly: Yes
Distance: 1.5 miles round trip
Shaded: Yes
Parking: Yes for $5.00
Address: Manoa Rd., Honolulu, HI 96822

Here are some pictures from our hike.

Intro

So I just moved to Oahu 3 weeks ago with my two devious menace rescue dogs Sadie (a 3 year old what I'm calling Swiss Mountain/Lab mix) and Whitley (a 2 year old white freckled heinz 57 who's breed changes every time I'm asked). I had heard before moving here that the island isn't exactly dog friendly but where I go they go. We jumped through the hoops of getting these two to be able to join me and with much difficulty and hiccups got on a flight to Oahu. After problems I was able to pick them up the morning after I got to the island and begin my Hawaiian adventures with these two companions. I've searched the internet to try to find a nice list of beaches, hikes, etc basically things that these two outdoor adventure loving dogs can do. I've found some sites that help but it is mostly a hodgepodge and ends up with me deciding a place and looking if they can come. So I figured I'd try the blog thing, see if anyone cares or wants to look at it and my misadventures might help others navigate this less then dog friendly island. So here goes...
